|CAR-95 5.8 mm|
|Type||Bullpup Assault Rifle|
|Variants||CAR-95 GL, CAR-95-1|
The CAR-95 is the baseline variant of the CAR-95 family. Along with its sub-variants, it is chambered to fire the 5.8×42 mm round.
It loads from 30 round curved magazines and can attain a fire rate of roughly 652 rounds per minute, with a muzzle velocity of 930 m/s. The CAR-95 can fit accessories to both its top and side rails and can also mount muzzle attachments.
Performance-wise, the baseline CAR-95 is identical to its Mediterranean CSAT counterpart and is similarly outclassed by the MX series in terms of accuracy. The CAR-95's rate of fire is lower than that of the Katiba (800), but does retain a slightly higher rate compared to the MX (652 versus the MX's 625).
