ArmA 3's Laws of War DLC is a humanitarian-themed DLC that adds several new vehicles, clothing, gear, a new faction, and a mini-campaign. It was released on September 7th, 2017.

Previously referred to under its codename "Orange DLC", the Arma 3 Laws of War DLC adds a new faction called IDAP (humanitarian aid organization), mini-campaign ("Remnants of War"), Van (multiple variants with over 20 liveries), Utility & Demining Drone (multiple variants), APERS Mine Dispenser, clothing and gear, time trial challenges, and more. The package is supported by a free Arma 3 platform update, which highlights include: refined cluster strikes, the simulation of Unexploded Ordnance, the ability to drop (custom) leaflets from the sky, two new Showcase scenarios, emergency and medical supplies, decorative objects, and extra Steam Achievements.

Laws of War adds a new faction called IDAP, a Non-Government Organisation that is operating on the Republic of Altis and Stratis. It plays a significant role in the new mini-campaign that is included with the DLC called Remnants of War.

Platform updates include re-factoring of existing cluster munition-based artillery strikes to include UXO (Unexploded Ordnance) simulation and enhanced Mine Detector functionality. For landmines, a new APERS mine dispenser has been added along with training mines to practice mine-clearance. Dynamic loadouts have also been expanded to include a range of airdroppable cluster bombs for certain aircraft as well. In addition, new props and placeable objects that are both premium and free alike are available for use in the Eden editor.

  • Prior to its reveal, it was initially code named by its developers as the Orange DLC.
  • In a similar fashion to Karts, a portion of the proceeds from its initial sales were donated to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
  • Laws of War was previously slated for release on September 12th, 2017, but this was later revised to September 7th instead.
