The Lee-Enfield is a .303 sniper rifle used in limited numbers by both Takistani anti-government rebels and pro-government militia groups in ArmA 2. It was added with the release of the Operation Arrowhead expansion pack.
Overview[]
The Lee-Enfield is a bolt-action rifle that is chambered to fire the .303 round.
It feeds from 10-round magazines and can only attain a maximum fire rate of up to 30 rounds per minute, along with a muzzle velocity of 750 m/s. The Lee-Enfield cannot be fitted with any optical sights or accessories, nor can it be suppressed. The rifle cannot be manually zeroed.
Classified as an "army rifle", the Lee-Enfield doubles both as a line weapon as well as a "sniper" rifle (albeit more appropriately falling into the category of being a marksman rifle). Whilst it has its uses, the Lee-Enfield's bolt-action operation causes it to fire extremely slowly due to the forced two second delay in-between each shot. Any opponent armed with a submachine gun or carbine will easily cut down the Lee-Enfield's operator long before they can fire their second round.
At the same time, dedicated sniper/marksman rifles like the SVD outmatch the Lee-Enfield when it comes to both range and fire rate. Not to mention that modern sniper rifles are much easier to use simply because they have the advantage of magnified optical scopes.
Ironsights[]
The Lee-Enfield's ironsights cannot be manually zeroed.

10-round magazine. Does not contain any visible tracers.
Trivia[]
- Though its Armoury Description states that it is based on the "SMLE Mk III", ArmA 2's Lee-Enfield is actually modelled after the newer post-World War I "No. 4 Mk I" variant.
- At launch, the Lee-Enfield still had the ability to manually adjust its zeroing. This was removed after the release of the latest Steam version patches (as part of CorePatch's changes).[1]
