The Takistan Civil War was an armed conflict between the socialist and royalist factions in Takistan that lasted from 1988 to 1992. Each faction was backed by one of the world superpowers - royalists by the USA, and socialists by the USSR.

The Socialists, led by Muhammad Rahim Aziz, won in 1992, and the Takistan Army was formed. The country's oil reserves were used to expand the Takistani armed forces, including heavy weapons, SCUD missiles and covert weapons programs.
