Design[]
The Touring Car is a simple four-door sedan.
Features
Designed for urban travel, it makes for a decent choice of transportation around cities. However, it is somewhat lacking when it comes to off-road driving and doesn't have the sharpest of handling on tight corners.
Mobility
The Touring Car shares the same acceleration and handling (on paved roads) with the Hatchback. Consequently, it shares the same drawbacks as well, namely that it has awful off-road handling and will immediately slow to a crawl (23 km/h) if it happens to be driving over grassy terrain.
Crew Capacity
Not including the driver, the Touring Car can transport up to three passengers who sit in the front-right and rear two seats.
Protection[]
Touring Cars retain a base armour value of 20.
Successful strikes to any of the following highlighted sections will inflict full damage to the component:
Body[]
The vehicle's hull can incur up to 20 points of damage.
Engine[]
The engine can only take 8 points of damage before failing. At least 20% of damage is shared with the Touring Car's main "health" pool.
A damaged engine will prevent the Touring Car from attaining its top speed.
Fuel tank[]
The fuel tank can withstand just 6 points of damage before rupturing. Damaging the fuel tank will cause the Touring Car to gradually leak fuel.
Wheels[]
Each wheel can only take 6 points of damage before bursting.
Trivia[]
- The Touring Car is based on the real-world 2004 model of the "Škoda Octavia" series of family cars designed by Škoda Auto, a car manufacturer in the Czech Republic.
- On release, its steering wheel was incorrectly configured and would rotate in the opposite direction whenever the driver made a turn (the car itself was not affected and would turn properly towards the user's heading).
- This was finally addressed following the release of the CorePatch updates for the Steam versions of the game, which fixed the model's steering wheel and made it properly rotate in the right direction.[1]
